Our award-winning magazine features compelling articles on massage techniques, the science of how massage can help for client conditions, business guidance, self-care tips and more. Our program follows the guidelines and regulations set by the Kentucky Board of Massage Therapy. With over 600 hours in the program, our students are trained by qualified faculty and get hands-on experience in our student clinic located on the Hopkinsville Campus. Moraine Valley students gain valuable experience working on clients right here at the college under the supervision of a faculty member.
Employment opportunities include health care facilities, chiropractors’ offices, spas, health and sports clubs, and private practice. Successful completers may be eligible to take the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam. You CANNOT be granted a NC LMBT License without being eighteen 18 years old, as per State Board, SECTION .0200 – APPLICATION FOR LICENSE .0201 APPLICATION AND SCOPE…Documentation that the applicant is 18 years of age or older. To provide quality education in the growing alternative healthcare field by offering adult learners training in the art and science of massage therapy. The project manager and stewards oversaw a nationwide search for task force volunteers with the goal of including an authoritative and diverse group representative of all areas of the profession and regions of the country. Massage Therapy Student Clinic


Most massage therapists are sole practitioners or partners in their own business. In addition to giving massages, therapists, especially those who are self-employed, may spend time recording notes on clients, marketing, booking clients, and conducting other business tasks. Once out of the room, we ask that all clients fill out a feedback form to help the students improve their skills. The massage therapist program is full-time, rigorous and academically demanding. It is recommended that students admitted to the program limit their outside obligations as much as possible. The program demands an average of 20 hours per week outside of class on homework assignments. This class is designed to expand students' knowledge about the field of ethics as it relates to the  profession of massage to ensure the student has the tools to set boundaries and manage an ethical practice.

Academic Resources


Through investigation, discussion and reflection, participants have the opportunity to raise their own and each other's awareness and sensitivity to different cultural behaviours and customs. Over scheduled lunches and dinners, participants consider the influence of culture, society, religion, geography and history on dining practices around the world. Students explore intriguing characters, important places and famous myths of Classical Greece. By examining a variety of popular myths, students discover how the Ancient Greeks crafted narratives of gods, goddesses, monsters, and heroic figures to make sense of their lives and the world around them. Using examples from art, science, and industry, students examine how these epic stories from oral tradition have endured and continue to influence contemporary society. Toys and games, key components of play, have evolved from homemade trinkets to highly engineered items in a multi-billion-dollar industry.

Massage Info. + Styles


Some TMA courses are scheduled in accelerated, eight week formats. Core courses require daytime availability (Monday-Thursday), and Clinical courses are scheduled on Fridays in the afternoon and evenings. To complete program, applicant must be available to attend classes during the day. Upon receipt of an eligible Program Application request, transcripts will be evaluated to determine if program admission requirements have been met. If met, a program application, applicable program policies and a placement date will be mailed to the mailing address we have on file for you.

This program is designed to prepare students to sit for the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Exam through classwork and practical, hands-on training. Students will obtain a foundation for practice as an entry-level professional massage therapists. Topics will include education, anatomy, physiology, pathology, kinesiology, communication, client evaluation, technique, pain relief, stress management, professional standards and practice management.
Taya chooses the music and type of oil, and she and the therapist agree that the session will be for relaxation only, with no clinical techniques. Core curriculum massage classes must be taken in sequence, are only offered to students accepted into the massage program, and run for consecutive quarters. The Massage Therapy Certificate Program prepares students to become Massachusetts state licensed Massage Therapists with the skills and knowledge to provide effective relaxation and wellness massage.

Students also examine the direct involvement of fungi on industrial processes and current medical and biotechnological processes. Students explore the role of fungi as it relates to soil fertility and best practices in agriculture and environmental sustainability. Graduates of this program are ready to take the next steps in starting their career.
This occupation requires a complex set of skills-among them, superior technical skills, a soothing and reassuring manner with clients, and the ability to adhere to a high standard of confidentiality and professional ethics. The Massage Therapy Ontario College Advanced Diploma program provides you with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes required of the profession. This program is set up to prepare the student to take the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Examination in order to be a Licensed Massage Therapist within the state of Mississippi. Passing a Mississippi State Board of Massage Therapy approved exam is a requirement for a Massage Therapy license.
